Ellis Carr is the President and CEO of Capital Impact Partners, a national community development financial institution that focuses on creating economic opportunity through job creation, access to quality education, health care and affordable housing. Since his appointment in 2016, Capital Impact has invested over $500M in communities across the country and launched the first S&P rated continuous investment offering by a community development financial institution. Ellis has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services and mortgage industries. He served as Capital Impact’s Chief Financial Officer and prior to joining Capital Impact, held various positions in the investments, capital markets, strategy and corporate finance areas within Freddie Mac and in fixed income fund management both domestically and abroad at Deutsche Bank. Mr. Carr is an Aspen Institute Finance Leader Fellow; serves on several boards including Morgan Stanley’s Community Development Advisory Board, the Federal Reserve of San Francisco’s Community Development Advisory Board, Martha’s Table and the Housing Partnership Network.
